Jessica Mellecker- Vet, DVM
Veterinarian
I was raised in Evergreen, Colorado with my twin sister Jordan. Being from the sunshine state, I
enjoy spending my free time outdoors hiking, swimming, reading, and painting. I have a golden retriever,
Emery, a black cat named Onyx, and I recently adopted a blind kitten named Winston.
My love for animals dates back as far as I can remember. As a little girl, my first patient was my
labrador retriever, Maggie, who willingly let me bandage her legs with toilet paper and listen to her heart
with my stethoscope. When I was in first grade, I put together bake sales and lemonade stands to raise
money for endangered whales. Once I noticed I could change the world around me, I started donating all
of my allowance money to the ASPCA. By the time I was in sixth grade, I was spending my time
volunteering at a local veterinary clinic after school.
My dream to become a veterinarian drove me to achieve excellent grades in school and I was
fortunate enough to receive multiple full-ride scholarships to college. I obtained an Associate of Science
at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado. From there, I transferred to Colorado State
University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, as well as a Master of Science in
Toxicology. In 2023, I graduated from Midwestern University in Phoenix, Arizona with my Doctorates in
Veterinary Medicine.
As a veterinarian, I am dedicated to providing the highest quality medical care by treating every
patient as family with the utmost compassion and respect. I want to make a difference in the world by
improving and comfortably prolonging the lives of the animals I care for, implementing strategies to
alleviate patient fear, stress, or anxiety as well as enriching the human-animal bond through honesty, trust,
and inclusion.
