Laura Birkholz, DVM
Chief of Staff
Education: University of Wisconsin – Madison
I have always felt a bond with animals, so becoming a veterinarian was an easy choice to make at the ripe old age of 6 years old! I never could see myself doing anything else and have been living my dream of helping animals ever since. I am a native of Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2006 and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2010.
After graduation, I moved to Colorado Springs and fell in love with my now permanent home. I am passionate about continuing education, as learning new things helps keep me engaged and excited about how I can better help my patients. I also work hard to try to make sure all of my client's concerns are addressed, while tailoring the best care possible to meet each unique circumstance.
My professional interests include surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and dermatology, and though I no longer pay to maintain my fear-free certified professional status, it is something that we implement into how we interact with our patients. In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and twin sons, playing a never-ending game of fetch with my English Springer Spaniel, experimenting with new recipes, reading, and working out to maintain my physical and mental health. I look forward to partnering with you to provide the best possible care for your furry friend!
